Screws and some cobra faced and it would be cheaper and as effective////////////
There are a few models that "NEED" to be removed, but that is one that can be repaired if needed on lower budget job///

That's I doit to . Cram it full inject it thats how the "Pro's" do it huh? This type of mentality of "repair work" is what really gets to me... Competition doing crummy repairs with "foam and screen" and ripping customers off.

if I worried about my clients financials I would be broke as they are. I'm sorry for them but if they want it bad enough they will find a way to afford it. If not I do what I can for them and move on. Best line in a while!

Albert Einstein once said the answer should be as simple as possible...but no simpler. Does anyone know of a bird or a squirrel defeating the hardware cloth and pur foam. I don't. I don't do it so much to save the customer money I do it because it works its simple and a side benefit is it does save them money and makes me money. It looks like the plug that was made for the hole and either wasn't put in or was removed by an animal. I appreciate the insults being directed to Pesky. Thanks

Score! I would NEVER do it that way.. 2 8x8's counter balanced on both sides is FAR more effective !

LT when you say more effective do you mean your method would make them come out faster. That looks pretty effective. Describe the 8x8 method a little more in detail. I'm sure it is a good method and I would like to use it sometime and I don't quite understand it.

So how would you do it ?Anyone remember that post ? (Please don't wake up LATrapper ) 4 traps 8x8x24....a single strand of 14 gauge wire ( 30" long ) is tied at the bottom, dead center. You drape this over your shoulder....UP the ladder you go. Be safe only carry 2 at a time, but they are tied together and balance on your shoulder, leaving your hands free... Now where they are entering the ridge vent, counter balance them over the peak...you will never need any other tie off, due to it is perfectly balanced by each other, Other 2 traps go on the other end...or near the first two traps... A grey squirrel usually has 5...so you have 4 chances to catch a squirrel at this entrance.... and I usually have 1-4 within hours,
They are not afraid of a sibling in a trap, quite the opposite ! I can set these up very fast...and I mean VERY!...and have the litter caught in a day or two at the most...I often see another squirrel trying to get into a cage trap of a caught squirrel. Your best bait is a live animal...now who didn't know that ? You do know I supply more tails to Mepps than anyone in this part of Ohio, don't you ?
How do you think I do that...pickin up road kill ?

I bait my colony traps just to make them a little more friendly. I agree with LT a squirrel can't resist "black" walnuts. I mix an ounce of black walnut oil in a jar of peanut butter. When I counter balance traps like the 8x8 set up I use parachute chord. I suppose they could chew it into before entering the trap but it seems easier to keep more traps over my shoulder. I never take the first step off or on a ladder with anything in my hands. I like sharing different methods but I can't discount the one pictured. Or I guess I could say one word Comstock!!!
