How many of you use those tube traps that WCS sells for squirrels on muskrats?
Any pics showing how youd set it up?

They wouldn't work , most people use a colony trap , or conibear , those traps were made for mink trapping back in the 80s for setting on dry land trails

If you converted the pan to a wire trigger , like a round 110 conibear trigger . It would work and also be a better squirrel trap . Something I've been doing to some of my cage traps , this way they work at any angle . Also kinda fun

I can't imagine them getting any better. They're squirrel killing machines as is.

I've never used one for muskrats and other than sticking it in a den hole I'm not sure I could imagine a setup that would work.

Ya I don't know why they do that ,I have this giant cage trap thats sold for coyote , it's been set sence last nov on one job or the other and hasn't caught a single one , the tub trap would work if you got him to walk threw it

Nick, I'm having a hard time understanding what you"re missing on how to set the tube trap ? It is correct, it was invented in the early 80's by Mr. Bob Best (Tunnel Trap) and I've seen actual pictures of Charlie Dobbins testing the first proto-types.......and it wasn't on dry land. It is correct that the initial thought was to make it a mink trap, and it is a helluva mink trap, but setting it along a creek bank, den entrance, bottom edge, not sure why you think it wouldn't catch 'rats, as does any other bodygrip ?

It's a long story, but Mr. Best was convinced at the end of the 90's to start manufacturing what is now the Tube Trap and as you've seen on here it is a squirrel killing machine. It enjoys widespread popularity not only throughout the U.S., but now the U.K., and most recently Scotland.
