Show up to do a bat job lady says no screws in my new roof (which by the way is why she has bats to begin with) That and the fact that the front and back parts are 11 - 12 no way am I scaling that with out a harness and a anchor which require screws/nails. Then she tells me she just wants it sealed the bats dont need a way out. LOL

I agree. Told here you got 2 choices to get them out Me on on positing harness or burn your house down, the heat will make them leave.

I'd ask her to show good faith and her walk up the roof then I might do it. If she was successful I would give her a discount and supervise her from the ground or would leave and not waste any more time. It's our most valuable possession so we shouldn't waste it or fool around with anybody who wants to shorten it.

Phil made the joke about Hercules putty but that stuff is useful for a lot of things in this line of work.

I had this just this morning. I deal with raccoon problems for this slum lord, mostly because in his mind cheap is best and wont listen to what I tell him. He has raccoons chewing through a valley of a house he paid $4,000 for. I use vanish on the hole and set a trail cam up. No raccoons enter or leave the hole in 24 hours, but I do have pics of a coon checking it out from around 4ft away. I determine that they must also be entering through the chimney. The roof has a steep pitch, not sure what the exact pitch is. While fastening the cam to the gutter I lift a shingle and count no less than 4 roofs on this house, and by the thickness probably one or two more burried even deeper. I told him how much a chimney cap would cost and he was overly angry then he became even more overly angry when I told him his roof wasn't safe to be on.
Would you walk on a roof that is 4 to 6 roofs thick? The front of the house has a smaller slope that intersects the steeper section at the back of the house, so walking the ridge is a possiblity. The whole roof is so sketchy I'm thinking he can keep his hole in the chimney.

Had this lady send me on a year of mole removal job yesterday , which is her rental and she lives in a differnt state and plans to send me a check for type job , today at 7 pm she calls wants me to go back to the house for free and look for a dead animal in the house , I go no I just spent all day doing a exclusion on a house and I'm going home and it's not going to be for free when I get to it . She like oh really your going to charge me . Then she calls back I'm confused I read your add and it says your open 24 hours , yes I said but I charge double after hours , well what's your hours , I said when I'm done working for the day that's after hours , what she said , I'm not a store or something . Now she wants me to do a deck exclusion plus find the dead animal in the house and kill every mole that comes in the yard for the next year , her check better come fast , I'm getting this feeling I'm getting hustled I know that ,this feeling is normaly right , I should just go pull the mole traps and tell her I'm done and find a new guy . But most likely I'll trust and find the dead thing but no deck exclusion till the green is in my hand | | |

After reading this post from stem to stern, I don't want anybody telling me how I stray off topic. Good Read though!

I'm betting it wasn't a roofer. Probably the previous slum lord and his buddies. House was bought late last year at sheriff's sale for $4,000.
