Sunshine, google sunshine, bacteria, virus together and you will find a lot of info about the cheapest and best disinfectant in the world is sunshine.
Not to confuse with cleaning you still should wash of crud ocasionally but free sunshine will disinfect distemper. If you search sunshine in disinfectant together you will primarily find referencing sunshine and politics.
If you can't find any sunshine in your life vinegar or any viruside following label instructions will do it.

This is considered the best of the best . It's a 1/2 oz to a gallon . In the long run is cheaper . This stuff will kill it all . Also animal friendly . Just mix it in a spray bottle and mist down the traps . I would let it sit a few . This stuff is made for exactly what your wishing to remove . We used this stuff on the game bird farm . Worked great in the incubators . When the waters were cleaned this was used and it would stop the spread of all things . When you buy eggs from the story they have most likly been washed in this stuff .

bleach and dry is an economical sanitizer as is denatured alcohol.Vinegar is very corrosive to steel, if used dont leave it on too long and rinse very well as it will remove the galvanize off metals if left on too long.

Thanks Bob I knew vinager was a good disinfectant but I didn't know it damaged the galvanized. The way I mix bleach is with a dial-o-spray. Depending what I'm disinfecting and where I'm at just hook up the hose and dial in the proper concentration. I use a permanant marker to label the product that is in it. Taping a label or msds on the container would probably be a good idea. I works whether your making a qourt or wetting everything in your driveway.
Also straight bleach is highly corrosive and damaging to lungs particularly in an unvented area. Do not mix bleach with ammonia to make a stronger cleaner. It will produce chloramine vapor which will kill you. Also ammonia is produced when urea breaks down in urine.
Paul thats what these forums are all about sharing so others don't make the same mistakes. I knew that advice in my signature was to late for you and I and some others but I thought some younger person might benefit. If you think of it figuratively it might fit other situations;-)
