Removing the rats from my sisters pond. She doesn't fish and it has always been a good fishing pond. Someone told her she had a lot of muskrats so I went up and had a look. One muskrat hole on the dam seems to be the culprit. I'm pretty sure this hole is the culprit to lowering the water level a couple of feet.
When I'm done with the rats does anyone know of an economical solution to put in this whole to stop the leak. I know this may be an expensive solution in the long run but I knw there are a lot of economically deprived solutions in our minds and I would appreciate them.
I know the profesional solution would be hire a pond guy with D-9 re-seed etc. but I'm looking for well you know.
Thanks in advance.

Just get your foam gun and some wire should do the trick

You know Pesky I am going to look for a different answer but if I don't find it. I am going to take a long gun and probe around the suspected spot and try at least a full can and hope it trickles thru a distance and sets up. :)I wish we knew your name.

I know this problem well . Growing up my dad was a commercial bait dealer . We would go out and seine minnows ,then sell them whole sale . Some of the bait would go into 55 degree bait tanks so the bait was hardened before selling . This makes them live better . The rest that was to small or more than we could sell right away would go into ponds . This ponds were like a bank account to us. We where at war with snapper turtles ,king fishers, blue heroning, and muskrats . The rats would dig threw the dikes draining the ponds . The only way we found to fix these muskrat holes was to dig a trench . The trench was dug about 6 ' in from the bank , we or I should just I dug them about 5 ' each side of the hole running threw and 3' under the hole . Then we would fill the trench with cement to about 1' below the grade . And fill the rest with dirt . If I dint dig the trench big anough it was time to dig up again . Dikes are made of clay not a easy job . Pick axe time
