Just wanted to stay remember to stay safe out there especially when up there. I came real close to diving off a 35 ft roof today. Tore completely threw a BRAND NEW pair of cougar paw pads. I still say that driving is the most dangerous thing we do but dont forget it can happen at anytime.

Adam, Explain a little more. Gravity and falls are our biggest risk. My son told me I need to get rid of my cougar paws because they let me do things I know I shouldn't. So your cougar paw comment caught my attention. It sounds like you had a life changing experience and you counting your blessings. Tell us what happened so we don't do it. Thanks for sharing this experience.

Went up set up my anchor so I could use my safety harness . Forgot my rope. No problem going up was heading back down to get my rope, tool belt and material I needed. Walking down a valley, the rock on the shingles went all at once. The shingles looked good but are damaged easily. Long story short the anchor is still up there I am heading back in the AM with a lift. It sounds like you had a life changing experience and you counting your blessings. I thank GOD for saving my life today, that is the truth !! Things like this make you rethink you life and count your blessings for sure.

How do you forget your rope when your headed up to tie off . Just happened about like forgetting my .22 shells one morin when I had just started a new line , just happened. Yes I know of ridge hooks had them on a roof today and all of the rest of the safety stuff. Still the point is it can happen no matter what and at any time. Never forget that . The whole point is to go home at the end of the day. Ropes and lifts fail , a lift failed here last yr broke the guys back. I am always looking down thinking if I go now I will hit that tree, truck or porch first save me 4-6 feet. You gotta be nuts in the first place to do what we do. Ok Vinke we need details !!

I know your point I was just ribbing you a bit . Found out today I need knee surgery now after I fell off last year. Doctor said it was just brused , today he said surgery . I don't have the money for surgery so I guess I'll learn how to with a knee that just gives out sometimes . Thinking I should start with a harness wearing . Lifts look nice but you don't know what's under the ground . Then there slopes on most jobs . Thinking about asking Phil if I can order a 40' foam gun . Need like a cam on the end so I can see what I'm doing

I agree about the driving thing Adam. I just wish that after that two story fall, that an airbag had inflated when I hit that darn widow well. ( As you all can tell by my posts, the brain damage was a lot worse than what they told me. ) I about got hit by a drunk driver last Sunday . After dropping mom off after mothers day ran out to two jobs . First job was done and I loaded the brand new shinny ladder on the rack and here come the customer asking more Q . So I pull out on the four lane road and my ladder goes rolling of the ladder rack on to the road . So I do a quick U turn and block off part of the road head on and turn on my flashers . This other car comes up and stops blocking off most of the rest of the road . Mean time I hop out going to get my ladder back thinking how stupid of a mistake I just made . Here come this other car fly in and goes between us and runs over my brand new shinny ladder . Compleatly wasted . Hit it side ways doing like 50 mpr . The car never even stopped after to check for damage to his car or tires . I was so upset about my brand new ladder I never even thought how lucky I was I wasn't picking the ladder up when he came flying in . I was also lucky it didn't roll off into someone's windshield . I got to thinking he must of been drunk not to stop before or after . Two cars parked in the road and me walking in the road . I was driving down 696 two days ago , that hwy is below ground and people drive fast bumber to bumber . Well here comes all these golf ball size rubber balls bouncing over cars left and right .someone from up above was throwing balls down on the cars . I go down a little more and this guys makes a four lane turn onto the exit and cuts off this semi
