I need a refresher myself. I landed flat of my back yesterday while setting up that trapout. My four foot step ladder folded a leg under me and I went for a ride.

I got great news, author and NWCO, Thomas Reilly in Massachusetts since 1999 and earlier 20 years previous experience in the construction industry. In his book The Wildlife Management Professionals Company Handbook he has two chapters that specifically address Safety in the NWCO workplace and the other with model company policies that address safety and other matters of concern to the owner operator of a wildlife control business today.

We will go all over safety from many aspects ladder safety, OSHA Regulations, personal safety Equipment, Ropes, Lifts and confined spaces.

I did a earlier related podcast Feb 26, 2009 with Thomas Reilly, certified OSHA trainer and a member of our own NWCO ranks from Massachusetts who went into a lot of detail on safety in his book as it relates to many of us in the NWCO industry,

His book is dedicated to about 50% safety related content important for this industry. I know of no of no other book that has been written on the topic of NWCO Safety in such minute detail.

Don't miss the podcast Thursday Night 8 PM EDT

The original podcast was done by Mike Flick and Thomas Reilly both former iron workers and both successful NWCO's today. Safety 1st!

If the little man in your head says this is dangerous get down before the other man in your head talks you into doing it.

Day before yesterday I was putting up a 22 ft extended little giant. I had the feet against the foundation and was walking it up and was about 2/3 the way when I hung the top on a limb. Straining I looked up and decided to push it thru and it went thru with ease I thought. When I got it fully against the soffitt slightly tilted backward. I looked up in preparation of bringing the feet out into position. The limb I thought I had pushed thru had perched on top of the ladder until I touched the building, I never saw the limb it hit me in the face poking a hole 1 inch below my left eye, numbing my nose, swelling up my forhead on the right side.
I didn't know how serious but I knew I had to hang onto the ladder or it was going to fall on me so I sucked it up put the ladder in position. Went to my truck to get something to stop the bleeding and have a look. It dodn't look good but I have been married 40 years so I took a drink of gatorade and finished the exclusion.
My dog and the customer wanted to doctor it but I told them maybe my wife would maybe give me some sympathy. She acted like it was another day at work.
I took pictures and plan to post them.
I plan to listen if no one will make fun of me.
I am going to Furtakers in Evansville but I think I will be able to sit in.
Thanks Robb and Tom.
