I think they are a excellent feature/mod on double longspring traps without nut and bolt adjustment. BUT on coils they are not necessary...but again TO EACH HIS OWN.

i have them on some of mine and i like them a lot. i also had a person tell me and show me how to nightlatch regular pans. with that said they both work really nicely. if i cant have the PIT i am gonna nightlatch the stock pan.

If you tangle with enough coyotes, and well caught, big, coons, you will end up with a night latch anyway, to get them to set right. Or else a dog with quadruple L bends. You have to file away a third of the "bump" and at least three-quarters of the dog on the pan side of the bump, to get it to work right. What's wrong with a nightlatch? Same amount of filing?

I liked them on my Victor #3 humpbacks. I also purchased a couple dozen bridger 1 1/2`s that come with the pit system. so far I like em, but I havent put them in the ground yet so the jury is still out for now!

Not if grey fox are around. If just coyote/bobcat they are nice though.

Not saying you won't catch ANY grey fox in them, i just don't like any tension on my traps im using for grey fox. Light stepping little jokers. You can bend the dog downward to lighten it up on the PIT's but I don't like bent dogs either, lol. Coyotes bend them up fast enough.

I put some on a couple of #3 jumps. Haven't caught anything with them yet, so I can't say they are "golden".

However, it looks like they are a definite improvement over the old skull pans that were crimp-onto-hump style.

If they won't hold a beaver i don't them butch, afraid my high flying land trapping days are about over, at least for the near future anyway. Don't even have time to beaver trap here lately, lol.
