Been slow here, too. Kings are nearly a no-show. Picked up 2 on the first outing, then zip ever since. Don't know what to think about that.


Just doing what I want now.

Our Kings are realy late..sounds like the whole state has problems this year... the ocean still has some ice so thats probably the reason with the cold water, some are starting to show up but they closed us for subsistance to let them pass for escapement.

The Chums are running good we have over 300 thousand ran past us and we could be fishing them at a Buck a lb but they are afraid to catch any kings so its a lose lose situation for us this year.

awww yes net hanging, I have done that once, my pinkies were raw for weeks from cinching the knots.

I have seen guys with bloody fingers but I invested in a piar of these and have no problems at all.
I also use the back of the pic to pull the knots.

my under ice net is Mono those are the same gloves I use to check it..lol
I know they use it for salmon in Bristol Bay but for some reason no one uses it here on the Yukon I think its illegal here for some reason.

The salmon statewide seems a bust so far.
Will be interesting to see the entry. Fast and furious or just spread out late season. orrrr.

Mono is illegal in Bristol Bay too and I believe state wide for salmon, it is legal for Herring though

I could be wrong but I could of sworn we used mono in BB years ago did they change the regulations? it was back in 82

you are correct we did use it for Herring when I fished.
