I thought the entire lawn had died and I could avoid saddling up the John Deere for the entire summer. All I had to do was catch animules. So we get a few drops of rain and the lawn ( weeds actually ) makes a startling recovery. Pardon me; I gotta go out and cut again.

Its bad here too Paul. The last time I used a lawn mower was about May. I'm not really sure where it is any more. Farmers fields are brown or plowed under. The Northern part of the state has plenty of rain, and crops are doing fine. I can tell already that all the deer will be on the islands this year because the oaks have dropped the acorns everywhere else.
Kinda got me a little worried though, because the farmers almanac has a short, warm winter with little snow predicted for this year. That means no snow melt for the spring. Prices of all food are going to reflect this soon enough. Guys are selling calves at twice what they got last year. And its not just us either, they estimated that half the country is in the same boat. And it looks like Europe didn't have such an epic year in the crop world either.

I wonder if there will be enough coffee and middle fingers to make it through the day.
