Homeowner had a skunk swimming around in the pool, the grand kid got it out and and put it in the grass thinking it was dead. They called and asked if i would pick it up by the time i got there 1/2 hr later the skunk was back swimming. Easy enough to get out and easy job. Guess he just wanted to swim..Wish i had my camera

That is strange . I've got them out of pools and do have a pic . But nothing like a skunk needing water like that . Skunks don't like water and act just like a house cat . Could be something wrong with that skunks brain . I would check him over real good if you plan to release him .

I got one out of a pool once. But it had been there all winter. Was actually froze in the ice on the pool cover,,, then it thawed,,, and smelled.

I pulled one out of a pool filter inlet last year.

I figured he must be sick but he was swimming like he owned the place. Either way he is out and disposed of.

That is not always the case. Here is a link to "Hydrophobia-Rabies" (Fear of Water).
