When I think of the times that I climbed to the top of an empty silo to grab a couple of squab pigeons for 25 cents, it makes me shudder. And if the nest was in the middle of the 2 x 8, I'd scuttle across it. What a moron! Is it any wonder that I believe in God? He had to hire extra Angels just for me.

As far as the raccoons, what about a .22?

Why not trap at the bottom? They have to come down eventually.

Can't say I have ever climbed a silo but I have watched my family do it . Not sure if I would wish to climb one with traps and stuff and if it was wet . I think I would just set where there climbing up as well . I heard there's been a few farmers die climbing down inside after a wrench they had dropped inside from the lack of oxygen when there was grain inside . Silos are not cheap and if there not being used I'm sure there's a reason

Sorry Tom, I live in an area with a lot of silos and I'll bet less than 20% are still used for silage, maybe even a lot less.

I think I get what your putting down tom and see n reason it wont work. Only down side is its gonna be a single shot each night and it would be nice to pick off the whole posse in one night. Usually there is a pile of them in those old silos.good luck and lets see some pics.

Use cages and sweet bait/lure to avoid cats. Works like a charm.
