A local guy in my area was telling me how he uses these downspout elbows for his exclusions. Has anyone tried these? Do they work?

Too big, too noticeable, too much chance of re-entry.

Bats follow scent to re enter, thats why I use hardware cloth. The scent runs out before it makes it to where I moved the entry to. Dave is right, too big, too noticeable,Not effective, and too expensive!

Could they still re enter if you angled the tube up? Basically so it was in the air and had no contact with the roof?

That would make it easier for them to re enter IMO

Just use an empty plastic caulking tube, thier versitile to attach in many ways and locations...and work well..or go with the other ideas but, that thing looks like a musical instument

Thanks fellas, I appreciate the input! I've used hardware cloth in the past with good results, I've also used multiple tube systems, I was just looking for other ideas to expand my options. I'm glad I asked as I have my biggest bat job to date coming up and was considering trying these. It seems like all the resident jobs I do take anywhere from 4-8 installed exclusions. I located 78 entrances yesterday on the 3 different buildings I'll be working on. I was looking for a method to save time as most of these will require a 40 ft ladder. I'll just stick to the way I've always done it. I had to ask though.

What is a good caulk tube count per est. # of bats? Never used them before.

x2 plus they can feel the fresh air on there way out . If tryed different ways and hardware cloth seems to get them out faster my testing found . The other things did work but they took a day or two longer the customer reported
