I think I've got a good system down . I do get a few of these every month . I'm not sure what killed this deer . It could have been that fever they get here in Rochester . There was a big fence along the road and this deer was on the other side of it . This video is part two . I posted part 1 on LT site and that covers the extraction

So who pays for the deer removal and how much do you get?

Right about the same price for me and yes gloves. I've found that a hitch hauler is my best dead critter tool since it's lower to the ground than the bed of my pick up, doesn't need to be unpacked to make room and easy to dump the stinking mess.

You won't get close to half that here in Montany, we's be po' folks. I raised my price to nearly $100 just to stop getting the calls, it is not a profit center and as I describe it to my customers it's more of a community service. Warrior you've been following me, I do the same thing with the hitch carrier unless it's a big 'un, then my 1WD Ranger comes into play, smooth surface ramp with a 1500# Warn winch mounted in the front of the bed. Biggest haul so far was a 300# pot bellied pig.

I had one a few weeks ago that was a bit further along. I put it in the back of my truck and headed down the road. A couple of cars behind me pulled off the road. Must be they can't appreciate the smell at 8 a.m. It was gagging me with the windows up. The upside is that I finally found something to mask the armadillo smell.

A hitch carry would be a good idea . The problem would have been driving a hour there and back to get it . I was the one that Invented the hitch box . 22 years ago I was fur trapping out of my jimmy blazer and need more room . I made one and had a ply box on it to keep out the salt from roads . They spread salt on are roads here when it snows . My buddy welded the lower frame and I made the box . We joke hey we should get a patent on it oh ya right like people would use something like this . I must have drove by someone at Reese hitch because like a 1 1/2 later I started seeing them on cars . I dought a patent would have did much good they could just change it a little . I invent the arrow radio antenna . Back in high school I was going threw this brush covered two track and busted off my antenna . Finally got sick of my one AC/DC tape and was looking in my garage for something to fix my antenna and found a broke off aluminum arrow that wedge right on there perfect . Went to school and my hunting freinds went wow cool idea dude . Im like ya it works good . There going I'm going to put one on mine . I'm like why yours ant broke . It's looks cool dude and it just spread from there . I'm not sure what the other guys charge for deer pickup . That's what my buddy said to charge . Picking up a deer will shut you down till you can dump it . Getting that smell off the truck becomes importen very fast .some People driving by get [Please excuse my language... I'm an idiot] thinking I killed I guess . What ever I'm not putting that stink In my truck . I like doing these jobs for some strange reason . If the deer dies in the road side the police will pick it up . But if its in the yard you need to call someone like me . The police also pass out live traps to the public and pickup there animals . I've herd and seen some major problems with this service . Non target trapping , animals in traps a week before there called in for pickup . I dought anybudy buys there trapping lic . Not sure if are new rules coming will help to change this so where all working by the same rules in this twp . The twp police department seems to do there part well but it's these home owners not reading the rules of engagement . Still waiting to show up at one of these calls and it's some monster buck laying there . Mostly these mid size Doe .

We charge a little more than that, 250-350 depending on size and how far it is melted down. We went and bought a small trailer, and usually wrap them up in a poly tarp. Here we have to get an authorization from the local C.O.'s before we even think about moving one, and also it has to go to a county landfill for burial. Sometimes the homeowner will pay just to have it delivered to the roadside and out of their yard, so the local DPW will remove it, ( at their convienence of course ).
