It says KOKO, but it is a Koro Trap, I remember when they first came out people were using them up here. I watched alot of grown men smash their fingers in them.

Is that what it's made for muskrats . I see there's a spike to stick bait on the back side of the pan . It would kill about anything that stuck its head in it . It got my finger right off . No biggy there . I was just learning how not to set it . I got it down now

No, that's Reginald Murray from Oklahoma. He did the video on the Koro trap that SGS linked to.

The Koro's are made in Canada.

Oh I get it . That video shows how to use them . Looks like a great little trap . It's like a baited cubby or can be used in blind sets . Can't wait to set one

I have the gutter size to seems . Could just slide a peace of metal under the shingles over the trap . Put a little bait and have a great set that can't be seen . Love it

the small one is what they call the rodent size. they work great on grey squirrels. we have 2 or 3 doz. of them and use them all the time on squirrel jobs.

Yup I can see this trap being a nice tool . Robb Russel sent me a real nice link on how to bait and setup the trap . Thanks Rob . I place all three out on a rodent job last night . I set all kill sets on this job . The customer lives behind a locked gate community .I can see having problems getting the traps checked on a daily . Kill sets don't need checked daily by law in this state . I also set a round conibear over this one hole . With weather cooling out I will be setting more kill sets on jobs .

Thats a nice critter buffet Robb. very similar to how I set them up. I also put mesh on the sides to limit squirrels to a straight on approach. Is the trap mounted to the board for ease of positioning? I really like that set up in winter when its too snowy to get on roofs, mount the trap to a board and slide it up the roof into position.

An excellent trap for grey squirrels, with some important modifications.

Yeah LT, what do you have cooking?

I have been working on another mole trap design, and it works great on the workbench, but the trigger mechanism binds up when it gets dirty--which is every time you put it in the ground--and I just haven't been able to get past that. I need to spend some more time working on it.

I love playing around with trap designs.

You can set them in a box also. A few guys do well here with them on mink.

I have and use both sizes. Very effective trap once you put the hardware cloth on the back. Of course the gutter size doesn't need the hardware cloth as long as it is used in a gutter. WCS carried them up until recently they disappeared from the online catalog. I called and they said they hoped to bring them back but were out of stock. I did order some from another company but can't remember which one at the moment.

Weld a piece on the back, a cross bar for screwing down, and a dish on the pan to add weight to the trigger and a place to smear paste smile

I have not noticed any issues with the springs and I have been using the same pile of traps for almost 7 years. They work great! In the winter, put a dab of vaseline on the rod that inserts into the pan. Keep it from freezing on ya...

I like it as well. No way there would be enough heat transfer thru that little rod to weaken the springs. All it would really need is tack welding anyway. I will be doing this with mine. Thanks for the tip Nic!
