Dog-proofs baited with something irresistible and then gang-set should clear up your problem in a short time.

Don't use DP"S. They are not 100% dog proof! A dog with a long tongue is a goner.

Frankly, if someone tells me to trap this critter or that critter, the only instruction I want from them is "What critter and how many?" After all, I'm the trapper here. If the "Boss" knows so much about trapping then let HIM do it.
I had a plumbing job like that once. I was hired to be the plumber for a maintenance crew with the county. That was my job and title, "Plumber". It's also what my father did for a living for 45 years and what I had been doing since childhood. When the supervisor, who's never had any plumbing experience in his life, came up behind me one day and started trying to tell my how to fix the circulatory pump I was working on, I politely reminded him that he hired ME to do this job.
But, for the record, you could use 220's in a hooded box set. This will reduce the chances of a dog catch but I still wouldn't bet my life on it.
Were I to be given instructions like that I would refuse the conibears and inform "Boss" that there are better ways.
  You did the right thing.

Hey!... It just occurred to me. Now that you are no longer employed at the place, you should enter a bid for coon control! Let's see them claim "conflict of interest" with that!

Pesky it's funny how the animals use attics, heat runs 'em out for awhile, probably a short while up there, and longer for people like Rick down in GA.
This employer was the department of game and fish, so you couldn't possibly expect them to make wise game management decisions. They lost three of us there, over several issues, mainly a manager prone to substance abuse and temper tantrums. The bosses have the place to themselves now, and no clue how to do alot of what goes on there. They lost a combined 40 years of experience within a short time of a management change. And yes, I'm waiting for the call, it will never come, they would let the coons eat every fish in the place before they called me. They were just eating the ones killed by mismanagement anyway.
