Don't 50 bucks boy now that's broke there now . I gave him 10 bucks he was young . Need to find a way they can pay with there food stamps . Boy, that is really the truth. The people who really need a break are usually the young couple with kids. I have so much money now that I was thinking about asking Phil to store some of it for me!

Ryan doesn't any one in the Detroit area even make any automobiles in the Motor City area anymore.

I could of swore DETROIT was a new miracle of economic growth; the direct result of the saving of the entire automobile industry single handed - you know the rest of the story.

You are in the wrong business; all the big DETROIT money is in Chevy VOLTS these days.

I was born in Wyandotte , went To Plymouth Canton High when Motor City really meant something. Today I guess we could just call it Food Stamp City huh

I am sure you can find work in better neighborhoods some where my friend.

Just in case you guys wonder how I got to be so rich, I'll give you my secret. About once a week I get an E-mail from Africa telling me how I won another 11.5 million dollars. One of these days I'm going to hop a flight to Capetown and collect! ( I was originally going to take my yacht but I'm sure the pirates would kidnap me and hold me for ransom )

I heard those words "I saved the automobile industry" last week and I figured you must be shoveling in your part of the VOLT gold by now .

I guess idle, smokeless DETROIT factories are all part of this new GO GREEN economy recovery plan.

Well maybe you should be selling raccoon & opossum meat. A good coon is worth $20 here and a favorite after church dinner locally. eek Food stamps buy DETROIT voters why not a Detroit raccoon trapper.

I think your working the wrong neighborhoods and that shotgun hunting sign attached to slow children at play sign kind of confirmed it for me.

Find better neighborhoods my friend.

Volt plant is shut down last I herd . If the gov would like to give them billions more to build more I'm sure they would open it back up .fact is it doesn't work . Yup detriot is going green . There's city blocks of houses with no body living in them . Some areas there's 3 city blocks and only one 91 yearold lady still left . Seen that on the news . You would think a group of people would buy up these burned out city blocks of old falling down house and rebuild the city . Ive asked some people that are smart with there money and they claim the city tax would be way to high . So it's growing up with tall weeds and trees . It's a burned up war zone . There is hope if you look right across the river to Canada there doing good over there . Weird that there money is worth more now .

There is a disparity. Ryan's observations are a reality for some areas. There are many areas of optimism in nearby neighborhoods though. Downtown Detroit is incredible near the New Tigers Stadium...Ford Field...The Fox Theater. Plenty of people going downtown for entertainment. Plenty of work for the engineers...prototype shops...engineering centers...headquarters for the Big 3....many suppliers such as Borg Warner...Lear...list goes on and on...

Not much left for the factory workers....those jobs moved to TN, KY, and Mexico. Cost of the labor too high - comparatively. Wasn't it Toyota that moved to TN? They do not have the unions...treat people fairly to start. Next thing you know, all the other companies move there because the suppliers are in the area to provide support.

We had a very unique turn around with Mercury Marine. ( I've worked there three times in my youth ) Anyway, they built a plant in Oklahoma because of cheaper labor and then the union gave them some much needed concessions and they closed the Oklahoma plant and brought all the work up to Wisconsin. I always enjoyed working there but not the layoffs.

When I bought my new jet outboard in 01 the reason I went with mercury was because it was made in WI . It's been threw a lot seeing I'm it's it owner even blew off the back of the boat once and it ended up on the bottom of the river it still ran good after I got it dryed out . I had friends say I wouldn't have bought a mercury I'm like why not its made just across the pond and not Japan . Today I change my own oil I'm done supporting them people after yesterday's attacks .

Okay Pesky, I think the towelheads you are referring to are Hindus and Sikhs. These are the good guys that own and operate many of the service stations in the Midwest. Don't get them confused. They aren't the only ones that all look alike. On Sunday I wore a Packer shirt to go shopping and I swear so did everybody else. We do all look alike. ( At least I don't have to wear a 49er's shirt all week like Aaron Rodgers does.)
