This would be my most productive way for catching overhang coon . I don't think you should let them just hang there so I will add wire or rope and even slide wire to hide my catch from view . Yes you can use cage traps and funnels but half the time they just don't work . This set always works for me and fast catching time .I tryed the wire trigger hang cage trap thing and at first it did seem to work but after a couple weeks found it not working very well kinda hit and miss . I don't miss like this . Raccoons are causing major damage up there no time to play cage trapper . I would clear it with the customer as they are paying you and all . can't really think of any body having a problem they just go good then it won't come back

Now we do use an occasional Conibear on cage-shy coons. But this time of the year there don't seem to be any raccoons that don't want to eat. We don't even need to set cages on roofs now.

It just takes one miss fire to have a coon rip a roof off. Got to always think about what will go wrong....eventually it will.

The conibears are on a slide wire just like a drown rig for beaver . The wire runs from the over hang to a stake in the ground . Where you put the stake is where the coon is headed after trapped . It's all down hill . Protects the house and hides the coons from eye sight .

Nothing against peskys technique but yes Dave its always in the back of my mind and thats why i never set it that way.
