Check out this video. The buck I kicked up ran 10 yards from him, and dropped when the arrow hit a bone and angled up into his spine. After the deer falls you can fast forward to see the deer and him at the end.

That strip of woods along the river is 100 yds wide and half a mile long. The tangle ends where he is set up, and the only way a deer is commin out of there in the daytime is if ya boost em. I prefer a one man push over gang hunting, and we have been doing it this way for years. Theres more to it than walking through the woods for sure. I use my scent to get the deers attention instead of hooting and hollaring. When I do find a running fresh track, I stay on it. Half a mile is allot of crawlin, duckin, wadin, and basicly doing what a deer does.

I love to deer drive myself . One man drive can work better than ten guys pushing I've seen deer just watch the marching band walk buy or they push it so fast the deers on a full out run . One guy putting the super sneak stop and go just slowly sneaking stalking sometimes the pusher will get more shooting than the blocker . I've had bucks just stand up 10 yards out not knowing I was there . They just knew something wasn't right . Having voice activated radio with a ear peace can really help each other know what's going on . Was out doing some scouting today and with the cooler weather coming this weekend I might be pushin some deer into my kids as well . Got some state land just down the road that's loaded with monster bucks . this coming weekend it's not open to the doe hunt but open to the youth hunt . As soon as bow season comes they just cross the street and there in the park where there's no hunting . Thinking of setting up a firing line and i'll make a big circle and drive one of big park bucks off gaurd. Then they will miss and will go sit are privit land spots and tag up a few doe . I know the first four deer we get will be grinding them into burger .

Can,t beat video like that.

Some of the best hunts I remember growing up in Alabama were drives. The most productive and memorable was with a english pointer-bull dog cross. Jump dog. Run the deer 100 yds and come back. We hunted small tracks with him. I believe "jump" dogs should be legal or at least have a season. I never heard of it, though. One driver and a dog was all you needed for the standers.

Killed a nice one in Ohio on a drive when I lived there and heard of many successful drives in Wisconsin while working there.

Small drives are almost non-existent here in Ga., where I live locally. There is a little dog hunting on the other side of the county. Not much due to the bad press on the dog hunters.

They sure were worth while in Wisconsin, from what my friends said.

I shot 2 nice bucks on drives in Wi. Back in those days we had big group of guys during riffle season. Those were good times! When I was 11 I was the designated driver (12yrs old to hunt). I would carry my pellet gun and ground shoot grouse. I miss those days in Tripoli! Butt cold and the snow was deep! And it was 5 days before thanksgiving.

I'm sure it's good but after handling so many just turns my stomach . I'm sure there's a way it needs to be cooked . If its like black bear which is some very good sweet meat if cooled fast and the fat is removed before cooking and taken in the fall I would love it . Coons and bear are about the same animal . They even smell the same . Eat the same berries come fall .

I never ate cream of mushroom soup until I came back to Wisconsin. Something about eating soup out of a can reminds me of something I did in the service. Oh yea... eating soup out of a can.
