Probably the latter...

Do your guys clean them out and flush rinse water through them daily?

The good ones have replaceable parts ie: diaphragm, gaskets etc.

Birchmeyer. You get what you pay for. Shurflo makes a decent battery powered sprayer. With the new EPA rules, pinstream around windows and doors, I use an extension wand. It extends to 7 ft. Full pressure with a pinstream I reach second story peaks with ease. The backpack is about $300 with another $75 for the wand.

See, now this is what I meant. What I should do is have my son ask this question on a pest control site and see if anyone recommends a $375 Birchmeyer. I've never even heard of the name but you can bet there will be one on the way shortly! All I can say is "Thanks Lundy"!

I use them all. All brands and makes. I found that the cheaper one from say TSC or Harbor Freight last a year if not thrown around and stepped on. Solo and the likes such as Round Up are much better and if you are not using caustic or acids should last you a good long time. We use our for years but are only used 2-3 times a week for about 4 hours.

So...you do the math.

In my book the more expensive ones are better at the end of the race. All depends on the use and who uses them.

I got mine from John Deere/Lesco. They stock all replacement parts. The handle is very ergonomic. (Fits nice). The extension wand is light weight brass. You switch out the nozzle that comes with the standard wand. Keep it from freezing! I open the top of the tank, unscrew the wand, drain it back into the tank, and drain the pressure from the hose into the tank. They say you don't want to arm wrestle left handed with an old PCO. He's constantly pumping with that hand. LOL. There is a grease plug on the back. I give it a 1/8 turn every 8 hours or so. Use any kind of grease.

Lundy, apparently not all JD/Lesco outlets are created equal. They are the ones that have been selling us inferior backpacks. ( of course, I get the idea that most of our backpacks have been drop-kicked into the truck at the end of the job )
