My area never had fishers in it ... in the last few years there have been more sightings then ever ... including my employees last week while bowhunting

Last year I ended up with a complaint and an actual nusience permit issued for a fisher eating chickens...

I turned the job down ... it would have been a waste of my time

So do any of you guys do fisher work ... is there even a call for it???

I dont know anything about them but am willing to learn ...

it is as it is... nothing more... nothing less

I have never had a job for fisher but have caught a few in cages . I know others who catch them in cages too. Fisher seem to have no fear of a cage are not any harder to catch than a coon. From tracks I have seen in the snow they show no hesitation when working a set.

I've had a few jobs over the years for fisher but 99 percent of the problems can be fixed with exclusion work.Make the chicken cages stronger, bury some wire around the pens etc. A fisher has a big home range, you may see a fisher one day and he may not come back for weeks. They are pretty much gluttens so catching them is not difficult, but if you use cage traps they must be a quality trap because a big male fisher will rip a cheap trap open and escape.
