Great pictures Brad! Nearly a quarter of a century in this business and I have yet to nail a badger in the line of work. Caught several while fur trapping and last year I had a chance to nail one with a cage; dug right under it. Thanks for the pics.

nice. I always like it when I check traps and a house cat is sitting nearby watching the trap for me. It usually means a catch.

This badger was digging right in to this old farm house basement. I used comstock traps dug in and gaurding each hole and by the looks of it the badger just ran right in. Its my 1st badger ever and I have be trapping for about 25 yrs So I'm happy and this lady out on her own in the old farm house is happy too

I'm glad you had a comstock. I've never even seen a badger in the flesh but from the trap circle photos I imagine they are hard on the equipment.

David,

Miss trapping in michigan, used to see at least a couple of badger a week and sign of them was everywhere.
They make the site look like a small bomb hit the ground, but ironically never saw any damage to the traps
from any age/size badger. I did learn about what type of stake to use and where to anchor though, my first
badger was on an 18" cable stake which held him tight, but when I went to release him from 18" away the stake
fell out in my hand which basically equates to the "tiger by the tail" scenario! However badger backed down
into a hole stay put if you are slow and push a little dirt over their head, you wouldn't believe how much easier
to work them out of a trap versus raccoon, bobcat, coyote even. They were non target on our project so I
released them all over the 4 years we were there, great memories, lots of great pics and even video, showing
no paw damage and return to digging immediately!

Justin
