A big part of what I'm trying to develop as a business is a pigeon exclusion line of income. We started out using bird barrier and have stuck with them, though I'm looking at bird b gone, nixalite and others right now, just to see what else is out there.
So far in our 1.75 years in this private business, I have employed flex track (shock track), bird wire, and stealth net. We haven't done more than a couple dozen jobs so far, but they range from residential to commercial.
We also use the cleaning products "dirty bird" is the one I use most to remove stubborn stains and droppings from Spanish tile and stucco finishes, with great results (also works on bat urine!).
If there are lots of droppings we use a hepa vac on tile roofs and flat roof situations, but also employ the scoop shovel method where droppings are larger in accumulation and can be wet to remove without dust issues and airborne pathogens. We use respirators, and tyvek and gloves and the whole ppe setup as well.
The big thing I've found with pigeons and success or failure in selling thus far is really being able to show the problem and show that you can correct it in a manner that sells the exclusion and not just a trapping contract.
We don't trap pigeons, not because we are opposed to it, but because we want to sell the exclusion and that is currently growing our market.
I wanted to start a thread to discuss pigeon work and thought today is as good a time as any.
So thoughts, ideas, tips, I've got more to say but wouldn't be a good thread if I didn't try not to keep it shorter than my typical post.
