Just found a deer tick crawling across my desk. The last thing I did outside was turn a Red fox pelt then brush it.

So what you actually saw was not a deer tick but a red fox pelt tick.

I respectfully disagree, Paul. I believe it was a desk tick.

Seriously, though, I rarely see above ground critters without ticks of some sort. Lots of deer ticks.

I found 1 on a grey fox the other day, about the size of a pencil eraser.

The one I found was the size of the period at the end of this sentence.

yup. My wife thought it might be a tiny flea. She looked at it under a glass and it's definitly a tick. Do baby ticks look the same as adults, are their baby ticks now, do baby deer ticks look like baby dog ticks,....i need to know.

If it was a seed tick, there would be a few tens more around...they link legs and can group into a collection upto a hundred of the things and drop on unsuspecting critters and humans. I ran into such a nest of them this summer...had flip-flops on so I didnt have to put my waders on yet and managed to have about 30 or so of the buggers on my foot.
