The bulk of my business is trapping moles. I have been using the standard green marker flags. I am thinking of ordering white flags with my business name and phone number on them. It is worth the extra cost and does anyone know a good place to get them at a good price?

I know absolutely nothing about moles, because I've never seen one, but wouldn't fluorescent orange with your name on, be better than the sign of surrender?

Sounds like a good idea. Obviously, there is not a lot of visibility with small flags. But, it might get conversation going with a neighbor. You never know until you give it a try.

I guess you dont get snow in Michigan or trap moles in the winter. Kind of hard to see the white flags when the ground is covered.Around these parts they are using the white wire flags for wireless dog fence training.

Bud, do you find yourself getting any work from passerbys seeing those flags? I had seen a post of yours with a good looking flag in it. Seems like it would catch a few eyes like Dave said.

Might consider having a stamp made up and print them yourself. You couldn't afford to buy enough to make pre-printed ones viable.

The pre printed one's are not that expensive really. In fact they're cheaper than what you'd pay at home depot on a per flag basis. I don't recall what the setup charge is, but it's affordable. Go the the link to blackburn flags that bud provided a couple of posts up. They have been a good company to deal with.

Couldn't you have a rubber stamp made and make your own up .

Another thought: The utility co's around here have some colors kinda tied up. blue, yellow, orange, re. Probably want to use a different color so nobody will ignore them.

I am thinking of white, because they are easy to see. I have used Red and Green in the past and they are hard to spot, they do not stand out. White maybe good or bad depending on the customer. I have contacted the flag Co. and there is a $20.00 set up fee if it is not a re-printing on the flag. With the set up charge it is still cheaper than my Home Depot flags.

company BRANDING..... I have gotten quite a few mole jobs by my flags.... if one customer has moles, more than likely the neighbors do as well. when setting up the job take 2 minutes and put a flyer in all neighbors doors. my last run of flags, 2,000 of them, i believe, cost me less than a penny each!!

Great! Thanks for the reply, Bud!

I'll probably order some tomorrow.

I don't have a dba/company name. Just what I do and a phone number on my business cards.

I may steal Nic Pallo's "Got Moles? or Got Gophers?" flag design with my number. I'm far enough from Nic it shouldn't be to copycatty. grin

Ordered mine today from Blackburn. Very easy people to deal with. Got my proof to me and approved quickly.

Thanks for posting their link!

I just went with "Got Gophers? Got Moles?" and my number. Just a little something to pique their interest, I hope!

Traps work 24 hours a day. Might as well put those flags to work while they are there.

While driving from one job to another I see mole mounds in yards as I pass by. I was thinking
of making a fast stop and placing a flag on one of the mounds to let the people know there is a trapper in the area. Driving up driveways turning around just to find that no one is home takes a lot of time. When the owner cut the grass, he/she will see the flag. If the owner has a service cut the grass they may pass the word on. I also called Blackburn and got real good service!
