Has anyone noticed the wrong phone number coming up on their ad extensions in google adwords?

Today I was doing some searching and one of my local ads popped up and the phone number was not
accurate, the link did take me to my website, but the phone number is nothing I have whatsoever.

Anyone having that issue? Not sure I would have ever known if not for this accidental happening. In
my settings the extension numbers are all accurate for my biz line.

Just tried the number from my wife's line and it called my phone, so it appears google added an 888 phone
line for me, that rings through to me? Seems like that defeats the local company approach with the area code
from my area showing instead of 888.

I did some reading and it has a lot to do with Google guaranteeing that your ads have mobile ready phone numbers that customers can click while on a mobile device and reach you. For a better explanation or to address your concern call Google AdWords Phone Support Number - 1-866-2-Google

Thanks Robb, I imagined it would have to do with "making things better" but was surprised when I saw that 888 number!

I've been delinquent in checking on these ads and accounts lately I used to be on top of them and constantly tweaking and
planning. Been slacking.

Thanks again, I emailed Customer service with the question this morning too.

Justin,
They put that number so they can get $1.00 per call through their number.
It is also a "tracking" thing.

Aaron,

Wouldn't I have to sign up for that? I have a phone number extension already selected for my local number, I can't see anywhere in my billing
in my account where I'm getting dinged for that.

Where would it be if you've seen it, I'd like to find it and deal with it.

If many of you have web sites not working right and wondering what happened to your calls from the internet . BLAME GOOGLE!

Some of my own customers got affected some did and some not Trapping was easier guys-just saying but I am getting it done and getting the results I expect. I came out of the Rondi reacting to not one but now two changes and have been working night and day. PM or call if you have concerns I need to know if anyone has had a abnormal decline for this time of year and some of you in those frozen tundra states probably won't know . I have already checked several with out notifying me but I want to get things fixed if they need to be.

Some of you non-customers I can help you do the right searches and see if you were affected or not too.

Or use http://bvsg.org and place three word searches bat <species> , removal, control, prevent, trap, catch, capture <select one> spefic city and zipcodes <local geo tag> example bat removal mankato for cities common in many states like Springfield use a state two digit name like MN for Minnesota

Eight changes this year to web sites and 8 new sets of rules of websites on how they get scored for placement.

It is interesting how google is working to get spammy sites out of search results. It is sad that quality sites get caught in the crossfire.

Dave this all about maximizing adword pay per click campaigns. Google likes helping its customers to select paid campaigns over less relevant organic searches.

There are still other search engines trying to be better and Bing which also is the search engine used By Yahoo, Ask, and other Search Engines
