I have read everything I can find in here about pricing for these type jobs. Then I sat down and figured in all that I have read into money figures. Can someone give me an idea if I am close or where I need to go up or down. I certainly don't want to sell myself short or leave money on the table so to speak.

$325 for 10 day contract
$200 for 6 month contract
$125 for yearly contract

For these contracts monthly and longer, I was offering checking yard once a month or if owner notices damgage. Then trapping as needed. Am I close or way of track? Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Ron, millage may kill you if you get called back. Example lets say your job is 20 miles one way. You said you would ck the yard once a month, that is 480 miles plus any added time the owner call you when they see damage. I think the $325 is hi but I live in a much more depress area. It also depends on the size of the lawn and the amount of damage. If there is a lot more damage, it takes more traps and time. Also travel time is for YOUR time driving AND up keep and cost of your truck etc. I do mole removed to supplement my income, but I do not under cut anyone in the area, just not good business. I give anyone that refers a job to be $25.00 dollars. Just good business. A lot of my business in return business so the $25.00 is well spent. I hope this helps.

I totally agree with the referral fee, that is money well spent. I am open to all ideas.

The general area I live in is on the lake where lot alone are running a half mil, then they stick they stick millions of dollar houses on them. But I also have the normal city life to, just not huge cities. I am at a loss for where to go with it. I think this is got to be one of the hardest parts of the business.

How I came up with the $325 was, after reading most people try to get about $75 dollars an hour for their time and expenses. So 10 days checking traps 3 times at say an hour each time = $225 plus a $95 service call comes up to right at $325. Am I figuring this wrong?

That $125 bucks is per month, for 12 months is $1500 per year.

I have per mole charge, set up charge and charge per mile. The only charge that remains the same is the per mole charge. I no longer give a price over the phone, I do an on site visit first. There might be a lot of mole damage from years past. It maybe aces, not just a small lot. Don't feel bad if you loose a job, if you are to low it cost YOU money. So keep flexible and consistent. The only thing consistent is trapping mole is the cost per mole everything else can change from job to job. JMO

Send me a PM with your e-mail address and I'll send you a copy of my mole pricing. I don't do many year-round services, but on those an inspection is first required before providing a price quote.

Your thinking on the right track but also take into account mole activity in your area. In my area a mole trapper would starve nine months of the year. We just don't have the numbers plus there are definitely peaks correlated to the spring and fall rains. During the summer dry spell they go deep and the damage stops. You may want to set up your contracts accordingly. Here with a quarterly or biannual the clients sees you when the damage is occurring rather than paying monthly for services not needed during the summer.
Of course other areas have year round activity and the numbers so you determine what works best for you.
