Wire your bait to the pan, they'll jiggle it trying to get the bait loose.

Too small a board not pegged down and a dog might dig it up, if he started scratching the dirt off the surface. Probably not, but a remote possibility.

It takes 43 muscles to frown, 17 to smile, but only 3 for a proper trigger squeeze.

I used a 1 3/4" hole saw to cut the hole in the middle and a 5/8 drill bit for the holes in the opposite corners. I suppose a fella could use a couple short pieces of 1/2 or 3/8" rebar. but a couple soild sticks drove in at an angle snuggs her up pretty good.

As far as the trap I've never tried anything but 1 1/2's and old #2's. Maily b/c that's about all the coons traps I have. A #1 would work just a slightly smaller pan is all. I did try this with those old #2 Victor Square jaw junkers and it works. He can't get to his foot, so that's why I tried em.

I run really light pan tension, one he hits the pan it's all over.

I also take a few minimellows and scatter them on the top of the board for a "treat". Then as he peers in the hole and see's more, well you know what coons do. 8 or 10 sprinkled in the jaws on the pan, etc.....

Another thing for you victor users, if there is a "V" cut for the name Victor that makes a dandy place to smush a mellow in.

Hope this helps someone out.

Never happier than when I smell just a little skunky.

********Dig a trap bed deep enough to accept the size trap you have but make sure it's deep enough so the jaws don't hit the plywood when it's set off.*********
