I have an existing skinning machine, but its too short for coyotes, I made this plan for a bench mounted one and had one question. how far is the distance from your clamps to your hoist. not to the floor but to your clamps.

ps. winch will be electric with hand control, a hand crank was just easier to draw on Microsoft paint.

the 10 feet you have on your drawing is plenty of room.

Mine is exactly 10' hook-hook and I'll have a couple of big dogs each year where I have to rehook. Normally, if I get the run-of-the-mill big ones and I've got it cranked to the max, I just apply pressure either downward or sideways in order to finish them off it's that close. Between 10'-11' is good regardless of your hook to pelt/carcass points.

Thanks, my old one is 7 1/2, and I have to rehook three times, the plan is to make it in my woodwork class at school

I think your going to need 13 ' my clamps are 24" from the floor my pully on top is 14' and I come close to the top on cats and coyotes regularly.

I made mine from 1 1/4 blackpipe. makes it easy to put away for the off season. it 12 feet from upright to upright.
