One-ways for pigeons are simplicity itself. If they're inside a building, do it just like a bat job. The only concern is squabs (young) left behind. There can be quite a few, and removal is pretty mandatory if so.

Dave,
How about canopies or roof top installations of netting, etc...? Most of my bird issues are where they are taking refuge from the extreme heat by using AC units, ducts, of course dormers, etc... While some of these the second they are blocked it seems they give up, others they seem to fight to stay and lingering after I clean a surface isn't in the program and costs me to make it right (which I do of course).
I actually just did a little clean out that was my first "inside the building" type, but only droppings from when the building was opened at one point.
Most of the net suppliers seem to push the idea of trapping program followed by netting, yet I want to sell exclusion without messing with traps if possible, so was wondering how many find it necessary to trap or problems arise.
If that makes sense,
Justin

[quote=HD_Wildlife]Dave,
they are taking refuge from the extreme heat by using AC units, ducts, ...hey, why are your customer air conditioning the outside?! Seriously, in high-pressure situations, exclusion alone might not do the trick.

Justin,
We do some commercial properties, mostly food grade chemical plants where we trap the pigeons but the structures are too complex to net (we have quoted netting but it's cost prohibitive to the plant manger). We've removed hundreds of pigeons from these properties via trapping. As far as netting jobs, we will sometimes trap first if there is a good food or water source nearby that is a secondary attractant. We don't want the pigeons moving to another place on the same property to roost. Sometimes it's not necessary to trap if there are other roosting/loafing areas nearby as long as they are at a different address!

I would ,,,,,,, but I have a hate for pigeons.............
best business practiced would tell you to move the to the next area,,,,.//..............
here they are covered under the "structural pest clause",,,... (bunch of fagets that need to be euthanized)

Hi all, my name is Richard, i live in Regina Saskatchewan Canada about 2.5 hours North of Minot North Dakota. I have been working with Pigeons for 3 years now. and am getting very busy this year with bird work. I know every job is different. Their is never any two jobs that will be the same. I find it really depends on how much pressure there is on that building or area..I work closely with Bird Barrier out of California. as they have just about every tool and deterrent/exclusion to use.
I am going to a Pot Ash Mine on Friday to do a visual and take pics for trapping, exclusion and birth control introduction.
I've netted pressure areas of 20 pairs and have had 100% success and others needed a air rifle.
I do lots of trapping and exclusion. One thing for sure the Pigeon population is not getting any smaller in North America.
