Very little. Not enough to pay for the add. Might be different in your area.

I contemplated using the yellow pages but then I came to my senses. For one it is not cheap!Think about it,how many times do you look in the yellow pages? Most people nowadays go right to their laptop, smartphone, tablet etc. for info.

I would say try it! A couple jobs and it's paid for!
It worked in my area! But I'm in a rural hick area and
Not that many ppl have the internete! My best form of
Advertising is still in the news papers!

I know I am dropping my "Yellowbook" ads when they run out. But not because they don't produce (they do great for me) but because they are changing their name and logo. When this change happens nobody will know who they even are anymore.

I have never used "Yellow Pages" but the guy calls all the time saying how much better they are than "Yellowbook" but I just blow him off.

My area 60 percent comes from the yellow pages

do your research ask your customers do they look in the book if they do what size add do they look for and what catches their eyes as far as adds go.

call other service fields and ask them what works for them book or internet.

I ask most customers how they found us. write it down and at the end of the year look a facts not what I or some sales men tlls ya.

I still use YP (although I've cut way down on size) and YP.com. It's just one more source that some of our older folks use to find us.

Yellow Book has worked well for me. Yellow pages...........not so much. I've alos tried other regional phone books w/o much luck. While I do "poll" my clients as to wehre they found me I've also used my cell number(not published anywhere else at the time) in a couple of ads as a tracking method. If an ad program does not work, it's dropped at the end of the contracted period. I'm also wondering what YB's changes will bring?

i just went in three different countys hometown phonebooks and for a 2x2 ad it cost me $600. and i was able to nagotiate a bold print ad in another section with a direct to the full ad. and also a bold print for my taxidermy service. for free i think it was worth it we will see. the guy called and told me the other day that i was the only pest control in the book that delt with large animals. good luck

If your going to do it. Do it well.
