A Tablet, I use mine for everything. Invoicing on the spot,GPS, ect....just makes things easy when you can get it taken care of on the spot..instead of waiting till you get home.

I think it's important to always have 2 light sources in an attic or crawlspace, so I'd say a headlamp would be a good add on. Raccoon eviction paste/liquid pays for itself pretty quick this time of year. Rodent traps if you're going to be doing that type of work. BLACK garbage bags, gloves with dexterity (nitrile/latex exam or dipped), and stuff for exclusions if you'll be doing any of that (hardware cloth, screws, driver, snips, poly-foam). Don't overlook hand sanitizer and disinfectant wipes.

I guess those of us who didn't know any better and went into an attic with a two celled flashlight, no gloves, no mask and a very positive attitude, must look like morons to you new guys. Fortunately, we looked like heroes to our customers and they were the people that payed the bills and recommended us. I'm surprised we are still alive to talk about it. ( Hand sanitizer and disinfectant wipes? )

I would get rid of the havajunk traps and get some good ones. Nothing worse than an animal getting out of a trap and then trying to get it back in again. maybe the catch pole also. Some homemade ones are not to bad, some are junk. You want a good one.

If you do buy cordless tools, buy once cry once.
Also an inverter in your truck is nice to charge tools.
A good sense of humor is needed to.

One of the most important tools is a camera a picture of the pile of guano in the attic sells the job quicker than you telling them they have a pile of guano in the attic. I used to suit up with all the gear, maybe I have gotten complacent but A flashlight and a camera pretty much all I take into an attic inspection now. I would get more quality cage traps for production traps I like safeguard pros. I would look into Comstock traps get at least one to start they can be used in a variety of situations. Not sure what the laws up in NH are but since most of your trapping will be in residential areas cages are the way to go.

I use Roof Hooks with wheels I got from Menards for my chicken ladder. Also got a Fall Protection Kit. Cougar paw's shoes for walking on roofs. The #1 to me was Quickbooks accounting software. You can keep track of all expenses, incomes, costs and Tax reporting stuff.

Yes, safety 1st!

I want to get a fall kit. However, the ones I see you are drilling screws into the client's roof.

How many clients will like that?

Thanks on the Cougar paw's shoes.

You don't need to drill a plate if there is a chimney to tie off around. I tie off to my ladder with the roof hooks. Especially when crawling under an eave, or when I'm near the bottom of the ladder. I have never used the tie off plate.
