Just curious. I only know of a few ways to catch an animal in a trap without bait/lure.

1. Positive set
2. Scent from previous catches
3. Luck

If comstock came up with a way to catch animals without having to do any of those three I need to place an order and quick.

I would consider drift fencing a positive.....

I do not use enough trail sets. Never think to use them.

Positive sets.....but the wire trigger mechanism and high powered doors really have an impact on the options available for use. Everyone needs a couple on the truck.

I have one and have not been happy with it. Had one raccoon escape and had one get her head out of it and strangled herself. (This was one of the original designs, I have heard they made changes)

It is now strickly used for woodchucks.

I love the wire trigger traps (Advanced trap uses wire triggers also)but will stick with Tomahawk.

For animals that know to avoid a pan I place very thin plywood across the bottom of the trap. While it is light enough not to trip the pan it hides the pan and works great.

I have not had that issue with the 2 doz traps that I picked up in 2012. Jim is constantly innovating.

Cheap bait = Orange circus peanuts. Some peanut butter on one doesn't hurt.
