I have a client there apartment building is a mess with Raccoon latrines. Bird feces, Opossum, I even saw bat poo. I have removed a coon, and opossum. Then all activity stopped.
Waiting for the attic to be sealed, they wanted trap left in attic until the holes had been sealed. and additional weeks charges. Actual client calls complaining about the trip charges. Tells me that he is going to destroy my reputation. Then hangs up!
My question to you guys is, What do you charge for attic clean-ups?

I charge $3.00/sq for clean up only.

Had an adjuster call me last week and tell me that my prices are 3x higher than everyone else. So everyone else must be charging a less than $1.00/sq for clean up. lol

Kasey the best way to combat the insurance company demanding a second quote is to get the homeowner to sign a contract when you drop off the estimate.

I lost a couple last year and started having the customers just sign the contract. That seems to have solved that problem.

Though I have been dealing with an adjuster recently who tries to negotiate on pricing. I submit the bid and he calls and says I need to lower the price to this amount. I say can't do it and then he says well I can come up to this price but that is my max. Never seen such a thing, just crazy.

Aren't they supposed to get a second quote from another company? I try to give a consistent and fair rate...and if we are not a good fit...so be it.

alot of times it depended on how bad i wanted to or not wanted to do the job as to what it was bid, i had some i bid for $4,000 and got and wished i would have bid more. biggest i ever got was an entire gut of a house, no attic, removed all outside cypress wood boards and all inside pine boards, job paid $17,000 lol

I don't know how it works in Michigan but around here the insurance companies keep track of who the cheap companies are and push those companies on the customers.

I talked to a few of these companies and they just remove old insulation and replace with new. They do not do any treatment for parasites or deodorizing. No HEPA filters and no sealing off the area from rest of house. With service like that of course I cost more.

I feel it is part of my job to protect my customers from their insurance company.
