Can you come pick up this armadillo we trapped

SURE

What do you do with them

AS A NON NATIVE INVASIVE SPECIES I EUTHANIZE THEM

You don't relocate them

NO, I WOULDN'T WANT TO DROP A PROBLEM ANIMAL ON SOMEONE ELSE

You don't know of anyone else who relocates them do you

NO, EVERYONE I KNOW EUTHANIZES THEM SINCE THEY ARE NOT NATIVE TO GEORGIA
RELOCATING ARMADILLOS WOULD BE LIKE RELOCATING KUDZU

Well, nevermind

From another perspective.....everything has been invasive at some point....you just need to go far enough back in time. That said, should I spray the garlic mustard this year? I am about ready to give up.

You're right. I keep threatening to haul some up to the north side of Atlanta to help out a colleague of mine who has never gotten a call for dillers up his way but I'm to the point in my life where I know better and ain't afraid of telling people what I think.

Why not just take them to the "Farm"?

I wonder if there will be enough coffee and middle fingers to make it through the day.

Vinke, I'm not sure I could tell that story without coming off as totally sarcastic.

Sounds like some coyote customers I get in Los Angeles and San Diego. I do not use the word euthanize when refering to coyotes, and I do get colorfull when describing my methods. To someone with a nuisance coyote in the neighborhood I sound like a maniac. To someone who just lost a dog to a pack of yotes, I sound like a GOD SEND.

Mike, I don't like the word either and will probably drop it all together. In my little world that I grew up in "kill it" was the accepted term as everything on the place was a candidate for the dinner table (except for the younguns) or capable of being replaced (including the younguns).
It was just a natural concept and I didn't learn of the word euthanasia until I was grown and away from home and that was a strange concept to me. Good death??? Ain't no such thing, dead is dead no matter how you cut it. Of course it was considered very bad form to kill things in a bad way. For one botching the job screwed up the whole process of slaughtering and getting it in the freezer and I couldn't imagine doing it just for the fun of it. Those kind of folks are some kind of wrong and would never be tolerated anywhere in the community.

I used to get agrivated also. But now I know that 90% of the public is so far from the natural world and how things operated in it. This is why we have a job

Yep, I'm all to used to it but I still just sit and sigh some days at the world around me. It's almost like I'm looking at some kind of strange alternate reality.

Like Brother Rush is so fond of saying we live in Realville I don't know about those other folks.

The reason I don't get agrivated any more is I can't change it. At times I get in my truck and think "Do they really think that way or are they just kidding me?" It's when they tell me with there infinate wisdom on critters how to do my job. LOL Thats when I quit being so polite.
I had to tell a guy that was telling me how to do my job. "If you know so much and can do this flyer job why did you call me?" lol. He then shut his cake hole. Dang yankees! Oh yeah I'm a yankee!

Since I was a member of the famous U.S. Army, people have asked me what we do. I mean, the Marines fight, the Navy sails, and the Air Force flies. After spending six weeks in the dumbest basic training in the world, I can tell you unequivocally what we Army guys do. We supply the body count for the enemy.

Just had a guy today - utter city boy - who had messed up a raccoon removal, had it take to pieces a louver vent, hole in his ceiling, the whole scenario of how to screw up a trapping job. Anyway, he shows me a stamped aluminum louver he'd bought to replace the one that Rocky had shredded,... and proudly says, "A raccoon can't get through this one!"
