Got the iPod set up to run "square" for credit cards but I'm still looking for a program for billing. I need to be able to enter dates, specific service etc. and then e-mail it if need be. Would obviously need to be able to start an invoice, save it until the end of the project, total it out and send it.
Any suggestions?

Excel invoice template and save as a PDF and email to customer.

Tried quickbooks and Peachtree and hated them both.

I hear you Nate. I'm a little old school on some things but then you have to embrace some technologies sooner or later. Quicken Home & Business and Quickbooks are two different animals and Quickbooks is full accounting software whereas QHB is not. For most sole proprietors QHB is great. I have been using it for 5 years and it has been rock solid. QHB is simple to set up, handles multiple bank and non-asset accounts, downloads bank tranasactions for those too lazy to enter them, tracks credit cards, regular invoices or evoices, past due/aging reports, drop down menu items, creates estimates, tracks mileage, etc. When set up correctly all you have to do is print the year's category total when it's tax time. I have also used Peachtree as well as Lotus years ago and didn't care for them.

We (meaning my wife) uses Quickbooks for invoices, they look nice, can be customized, etc....

We ( meaning my wife and daughter ) uses Quickbooks; I, on the other hand, don't even know how to turn it on.

We use paper; wife has a degree in accounting, among others.

I'm trying to Set up Quicken HB now. Anyone know what category to put lumber and other materials in?
