Ive just been asked by a local farmer to help him get rid of the woodchucks on his homestead. I'm new to the area and have never dealt with woodchucks before and not sure how to go about this. He does have one yard cat that I have to work about also. So just wondering what the best way to catch them would be. Also what would a guy use to bait them or lure them? And are the hides even worth anything or will it just be a trap and toss situation? Anyone that has any knowledge of the critters, your help would've appreciated.

Kurt Woodward had the fist cement road in the U.S. it was 1.6 Km. long. Woodward had a lot of history. We would travel on 12 mile to woodward to go to the zoo. 50 years ago. My aunt lived in Royal Oak.
To Old U.S. Army 60-63 SGT.

The best part of the hotrod era, for me, is that I lived through it, but that it's long gone. I lost about one friend or acquaintance every month. Fast cars were bad enough, but we could legally drink beer at eighteen. If I hadn't been smart enough to pay my guardian angel time and a half for overtime, I wouldn't be around today.
I guess if there was one plus, it was that when us Wisconsin kids were in the Army, we could drink the rest of the nation under the table and still wake up bright eyed and bushy-tailed in the morning.

My first new car was a '64 GTO. It went 145 MPH. I wonder how I know that? I loved racing guys with a stick shift. Every time they would shift, I would gain a car length. By the time they got through all four gears, I was past them. I only knew one guy who knew how to use a stick. He was amazing. He could actually feel the gears and sometimes would shift perfectly without using the clutch. Y'mean the speed limits were 150mph back then?? Cuz - you wouldn't have broken the law, right?

I just called my lawyer and he said that statute of limitations ran out on that offense in 1965; So yes, your honor, I believe I might have exceeded the posted speed limit. ( But marginally )
Speaking of 1965, I now own a '65 GTO that is slightly faster than my '64. How fast does it go? Funny thing: My life was way more valuable in 1964 than it is now, so why am I afraid to travel at the speed of light now? ( Oh yeah, now I remember. Wife, three kids and their spouses and seven grandchildren that depend on me and grandma for an extra buck here and there ) Good reason.

Sorry, Nathan, Chevy...Wink started it!! Several lures are commercially available: Chuckster, Formula 1, Whistle Stop; use a cabbage leaf, piece of apple dipped in lemon juice (keeps it fresher), broccoli hung from back of cage as visual attractant. Be absolutely sure that the trap has NO odor of predators. Good luck.
