Call for a skunk that has sprayed in a shop. Shop is far from being secure so any number of animals can access it.
Looks like a fight started in the trash can. Can was not turned over so I'm not sure how a skunk got into it to strt with.

Do some looking around and find this. Not looking too good for the skunk.

And then back near the rear door this.

No sign of anything eating it. Can't see any puncture marks etc.
going to put up a camera and see what, if anything comes back to check it out.
Any ideas on the "usual suspects"?

Just a guess; to me it looks like a well “tainted” skunk carcass. Possibly, someone found a dead skunk and threw it in the trashcan to dispose of it during the next trash run. They forgot about it and a dog or other animal dragged it out to roll on it. The rotted scent gland burst from the activity. There may be some family cussing their well fragranced pet now.

Note to self- Engage brain before opening mouth (or hitting the ENTER key/SUBMIT button).

Nope. Only one person with access to the place right now.
Really not a lot of smell. No smell in the place last night.
He appeared to be pretty fresh and I'm pretty sure the odor would have been a lot worse if his sack busted or got punctured.

The only animal that I've ever seen dine on the entire carcass of a dead skunk was my old friend the opossum. And he still had a smile on his face despite the fact that he smelled like a skunk and an opossum. ( A deadly combination )
