Doing some work for the airport. Yesterday's catch included a 3 legged beaver. I'm thinking he had a bad experience with a foot trap.

I've caught a two legged female before. Busted her in a 330. She was missing both fronts and apparently was doing well as both were healed over and she didn't appear malnourished.

I've seen pic's/vids of beaver walking on their hind legs, carrying sticks/mud.

Forget that fear of gravity-get a little savagery in your life.

Having seen what some landowners do I'm surprised I don't see eye patches on those pirate beaver. You'd think beaver would have the skills to make themselves a peg leg.

I have caught three beaver with three legs. I think one was born with out a front leg. It had no shoulder blade ether. The educated ones are harder to catch!!!
I always get stuck cleaning up after someones mess.

I catch a few 3 leggers a year, thanks to my competition's idea of drowning depth.... My best beaver survivor satory to date though is the one where I found a .22 bullet between the skin and the skull. Completely healed over. I'm serious.

Some day they'll name a trap after me.

Did one two legged beaver also about 20 years ago. Was wondering why I was having trouble with him with a trap set for a foot catch. Finally nabbed him with a hind foot. Don't know what happened, but the 14 gage single strand slider wire ended up in a ball with the trap. The live beaver was sitting on the dam in shallow water. Did not know how lucky I was. After unwinding a wad of stuff, the trap just fell out on the ground, connected to nothing at that point, just wrapped up.

Sometimes have had sliders get kinked or cable begin to splinter after a while. After seeing the chain slider set up and trying a few, wouldn't use anything else again, just works super and never needs replacing except when some (expletive of your choice) steals one, like last week.
