We get a lot of old Havaharts from customers and of course we accept them so that they aren't tempted to use them, smarten up the animal, and then call us.

My question is, what do you do with these cages? I'm not going to sell them, That's just asking for trouble.

Speaking of Havaharts, my son gave me one yesterday that was nearly a complete knock-off. Which ever Chinese plant is making the Havaharts, they must have decided to go into business for themselves. Except for the door spring, everything else was exactly the same. But no Havahart printing anywhere. China doesn't believe in patents.

I dont think "take them" is a good term to use here...I think they would be useful for repairing other cages or making modifications to other ones. Perhaps you could convert them into excluders like Bob Jameson posted not long ago or could make some nice colony traps if you were allowed to use them.

Thanks Sniper. I never noticed that it sounded like we were stealing them. And anyone that steals Havaharts should be committed to an institution for the mentally deficient.

Give them to a tech that scraps metal.

Not necessarily Hava's but some cages I wasn't using because I didn't like the design I donated to the Montana Youth Trappers Camp. Did the same with an overstock of 110 body grips I wasn't using. They give these and other items to the kids at the end of the weekend as a prize for attending.

I would use them to built a temple, complete with Tibetan monks.......... HHHHhhhhhhhhhhhuuuuuuuuuuuuummmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm.....ching/ching......

Not sure why but I can't stop laughing at the mental picture this conjures up!

Pesky may be on to something. As much fun as I make of Havaharts, I can actually say that I have never had an animal go through the side of a Havahart. I can't say that about Safeguards.
