Okay, I received a call from a gentleman who had a "mole problem." They were there last year, but he never took the initiative to get rid of them.
Thus, he called me...6 weeks ago! Every time I go a week or so without a catch, with no new activity, it rains! Then it looks like all blazes has
attacked his yard again! To date, I have caught 18 moles, with more new tunnels today! Will it never end!!!

When it rains it pours. LOL

Just because something is legal doesn't make it smart.

Is it safe to assume this property is close to the woods, ditch, or some other uncontrollable mole highway?

Called to a small front yard (20' by 30') destroyed by mounds last year in a new housing development. Caught 13 star nosed in a three week period all out of the same exact tunnel. Started with 20 sets and dropped down to only one set as they were all caught coming onto property from same spot. They were on a super highway coming from a culvert that ran down to a drainage (marshy)area behind development.

The real problem was the job was too far away and it looked like it was never going to end as you describe, Bob. After a break in the action, I met the client for a mole class. We set him up with two Albano's and showed him the superhighway tunnel telling him to monitor this spot. Told him if he controls this tunnel, he keeps the lawn damage in check. There was nothing to be done about the culvert and marshy area, he should have picked a different house. Told him moles will always be issue.

Due to distance for us and mounting costs for him, we had to try to make him self sufficient.

Wish he was closer and money was no object for him-- we'd make it a regular stop.
