There is a new ad on TV that shows a car full of raccoons and one of them is a blond. Can't remember the company that made the ad.

Caught one this year. Was told they were far and few between. I'd never seen one before, guess it could be true.

Are blonde raccoons smart?

22mag, Great question and I know it was said tongue in cheek. ( Actually sounds like something I would ask ) The funny part is, I don't know if you would exactly call them dumb, but the half a hundred blond raccoons that I have dealt with seemed amazingly tame. I had a blond female with four babies that would let me stick my hand inside the cage and take one of the young. I can't imagine this happening with a normal colored raccoon without having to count my fingers after each and every extraction.

P.S. In the picture in my column in WCT I am holding an adult blond raccoon and I have welder's gloves on. I really didn't need them. She made two exploratory bites and then posed for the pictures like a Kardashian.

Used to do custom fur handling and work for several large dealers as well . I have seen quite a few blonds. Id say they come around about ever 2500 or 3,000 coon. I find Albinos about every 1,000 or so.
