One of our golfers musta had a bad day and took it out on a snapping turtle. Now the papers said that he just wounded it but I'm pretty sure you can cut off a snapper's head and he will still swim away. Taking two days to die sounds about standard for a snapper.

Now I don't know what the fine is for killing a snapper out of season but they already have a reward of $6000.oo for capture of this fugitive golfer. I don't golf and I do relocate my snappers, but for 6 grand I could lie a little. If the reward gets any higher, there will be busloads of people wanting to confess.

Lol. I am a huge golfer and have seen quite a bit of turtles on the course. I don't take my anger out on them though!

We had a snapper wander through our campsite on Tuesday. She wasn't very big but without a doubt she was on a mission to lay some eggs.

Just hope she wasn't heading for the playground behind us. Not much chance of them making it with all those little monsters running through there every day.

Worked on a golf course as a kid I can see that happening . Seen some very T off golfers . Found clubs up in trees and about every we're to . Had to turn them in to bad to because some of them clubs big money wear I worked . It was 60k just to join . This snapper most likely was the result of some bet because that's what the game is really about . Sure they practice but you see four guys together there switch money . I about got ran off the road into a marsh today from people swerving from a turtle crossing the Road . Stupid people why not just stop park your car block the road help the thing across no your going to put me in the ditch .

Pesky, I really can't believe that I saw exactly what you suggested on the way home today. Some nimrod had his car parked in the lefthand lane and had his head to the viewfinder of his camera in the righthand lane. Now turtles are not really known for their speed so Mr. Moron was still filming when I pulled up.

Me; "Let me guess; You saw the article about the golfer and the snapping turtle."

Mr. Moron; "Ahh, yeah".

I heard it was a alligator snapper. They are not very common. He will be paying big money if it was. If it wasnt one at the time it is one now.

Not in Wisconsin unless somebody dumped it out. Very easy to tell apart even from a photograph.

Never argue with a fool - they will drag you down to their level, then beat you with experience.

No just guessing some one bet him . Normally golfers take it out on a tree or green or they just throw there club up in some tree . Never seen anybuddy chasing turtles or any wildlife not even bugs . Should have seen the DNR when they found out the head greens keeper placed grass carp in the argation pond . Things grew up monsters . After they had eating every thing in the pond under water they would come up and eat along the edges out of water . We had to feed them grass clippings some times very good workers .This pond couldn't use weed killer because they used it to water the whole corse . I would think grass carp are better than this copper sulfate they use in these lakes around here . I wish they would outlaw that . Weeds are good for a lake

Unlike Illinois where you let our worthless congressmen cross the border and hole up; we are very careful about what wildlife we let cross the border from you guys. We learned our lesson with beaver. We'll let a few across, but they can't have Obama stickers on their rear ends anymore.
