I want to get an electronic caller to help find raccoon litters or draw orphaned kits into a more accessible area. Anyone have one that has worked well for this use?

Fox pro makes a top of the line caller. However for what you are wanting it for an iPod with a good app works great. I use "Ihunt" and it works well. Called 4 kits from under a porch this morning.

I think Jonesie on here was working on something just for that?

That would be great. I tried some phone apps but they don't have many options for coon and squirrels that I could find.

I downloaded Ihunt sometime back to the iPod. Tried to find it for the iPad and its not available. Tony Tebe sp? Over on predator masters has some good sounds also.

Great, thanks for the info. I found the Ihunt but I've got an android phone so I'm not sure if it would work. I would like to just get a small hand held caller.

That's why I really like the iPod touch. Having the sounds available on my belt beats running back to the truck for the foxpro or the iPad.

I would be happy with a phone that we could hear decent on.

You may want to consider a digital voice recorder similar to the SONY ICD-PX312, available on eBay for $39.54- http://compare.ebay.com/like/151063763280?var=lv&ltyp=AllFixedPriceItemTypes&var=sbar. That is an old model ( the one that I use); updated recorders are available. Just about any sounds can be downloaded, stored, and replayed. Although the volume isn’t very loud, it is loud enough for what you asked about. Sounds can be stored on removable disks. Just an idea.

Note to self- Engage brain before opening mouth (or hitting the ENTER key/SUBMIT button).

Trapperpaw (Paul Brooker, your friend) sells the remote callers. He'll tell you a lot.
