The re birth of renewed mole tunneling is upon us here once again. Usually by June we are about done with mole work until early fall when it gets wet again.Then the heavy calls come in March/April in the spring.

Sure is good to get these calls as I really enjoy mole work and the revenue it generates. Kind of like the muskrat trapping in the nuisance control field.

Same here Bob. Things slowed down then steady and heavy rains put the moles on the move again and calls are still coming in. In a few more weeks the armadillos will kick in hard for a few months. One of the cities I serve has asked to forward all armadillo calls to me this year as they had over 100 calls last July and nearly 100 in August. I will be happy with a fourth of those numbers! Then I look forward to mole trapping in the cooler months of Fall.

Normally the only calls we get in early to mid summer are from the heavily shaded and moist properties along water courses and lawns with built in irrigation systems that run thru the summer months.

Really wet areas mostly star nose mole rest are eastern . Normally the moles move into yards when the wooded areas get dry here . The most mole calls I've ever got in one week came after the snow melted . We had deep snow that winter so ground didn't freeze and the moles had mounds made like never before . I also did a lot of padedo stone repair that week . Pound for pound my money is the mole over the beaver for moving mountains . July here is the best month for mole complaints in most seasons . I would only do moles if I could hands down .

This year may be different than years past if this rain continues like it has here.
