Wouldn't it be absolute heaven if customers just told the truth. I would like to give you some examples.

Customer's Truth: I know absolutely nothing about animals whatsoever, but if you need some hot stock tips, I'm your man.

What I actually heard: I just got off the Internet and now I know way more about animals than you will ever know.

Customer's Truth: I saw your experience on the Internet and I am really happy that I could get someone like you on a weekend.

What I actually heard: The Humane Society said that I could get rid of all my problems with mothballs and ammonia.

I recently had a chance to be that customer and this is what I said: "I know absolutely nothing about cell phones or how to activate them; as a matter of fact, my 5 year old granddaughter can run all of the new technology better than I can. If, however, you need any pest control or wildlife work done, here's our card". ( The Verizon salesperson loved me right away.)

I needed that! Just spent 10 hours mitigating pigeon droppings on flat roofs that backed up hundreds of gallons of water.....ummmm yellow green water that reminded me of the last time I was in a pig farm.

David, this was one of those "no money changes hands" visits. My brain might be old but it ain't dead yet.

Paul those are some of the classic consumer comments I am sure most all of us who have been in business long enough have heard and then some.:) Just the nature of the beast it seems.

The sad but true fact is that the moth ball/ammonia recommendation is still being given out by our local dept. of agriculture when folks call them for animal control issues.They must have an old remedy manual that they reference or just someone answering the phone that was brought up in the era that thinks that particular method really works.
