I have both personal and commercial through the same company.

Went to add a truck to my commercial policy. First I was told it had lapsed since last November. " Oh we called you " BS..I never got a call. If I had I certainly would have remembered " that " call. Second they said well you had these two truck on your policy. I had canceled one of those trucks two years ago....so they were charging me the whole time ??

So said ok...well let start it back up again. ( thinking...well I had no accidents no harm no foul and I kept 8 months in payment. Nope...to reinstate they want to charge me $5000.00 and change to reinstate due to it lapsing. WTH ????

No tickets, no accidents, no losses in 7 years and Progressive says 6500.00 per truck...these are pickups ???

So....what do you guys pay and with who ??

That is 5 to 6 times higher than I pay per truck for 2 mil worth commercial coverage.

Check with Erie Insurance co. They probably have the best rates going. I run two commercial vehicle policies. Mine run about $900.00 a year per policy.

We have Progressive and we pay $9,062 for 5 vans and 2 pick-ups. If we paid what you did that would be $45,500.00

I had progressive. They wanted 3k for one truck. Went with Jim pace for 2400 a year.

I would be calling in and chewing some butt. If they charged you for vehicle that you canceled. It is plain theft. Did you not notice that the payments weren't being taken out though?

Don't get me started DAVE !! I have boycotted PROGRESSIVE INSURANCE for years.

I suggest anyone who loves this country to decide for themselves if saving any money or in this case overpaying PROGRESSIVE INSURANCE was worth it!!

There has been a change in the insurance laws recently. If you let your policy lapse they can run a credit check on you before reinstating. If you have the slightest glitch on the report they can up your premiums by as much as 100%.

It pays to pay attention.

My insurance has been handled by the same company for 50 years. It belongs to a friend of mine from high school and I know everyone in the company. It is an associate firm which means that they insure me with whoever has the best coverage for the price.

Progressive is a new company for us and if they get too expensive, we will wave goodbye. Our biggest jump was a young man that we recently hired for part-time work. It jumped $1500 but I'll be darned if I'm going to let insurance companies dictate who I employ.
