I have said it before and I will continue to praise this trap. Really makes urban coyote jobs easier on the by catch.
For the bite piece I use a piece of old p100 filter wired to the trigger with the collarum bait. This coyote was chewing on a french bulldog monday. Not anymore.

Aaron, I have had two collarums for a couple of years now. One of my guys is really interested in trying one out. If he has success, you and he will make me look even dumber than I ordinarily do.

I first tested the collarums 20 years ago when I was live market trapping coyotes in Arkansas. There was a little learning curve in using them successfully and dealing with non target animals like coon and opossum. It is best to guard them with other traps to reduce the interference from smaller mammals as much as possible.

They work very well where they must be used.

Ill get a picture of the p100 mask filter. I just cut a piece of and wire it to the trigger. Has a hairy consistency. I would like to use regular snares but too many animals, dogs and horses.

The DVD may be Tracy Trumans Grey Fox Trapping DVD video. Tracy has been a long time user of our products and others as well. He uses our Fox Cream and XXX Matrix bait.

Fox Cream is an egg based predator food/curiosity/gland call lure. XXX Matrix is a hardcore predator bait that comes in two types, an aged bobcat or beaver meat predator bait.Due to its ingredient list it would be classified by many as a lure. You can get a better product description if you visit our website.

I'm always struck by the incongruity of California that thinks footholds are cruel and not legal but allows the use of the collarum yet here in the deep south the collarum is an evil snare and not legal but footholds are the only trap we can use.

Incongruity: inconsistent, contradictory, unsuitable, inappropriate, What warrior is saying here is that California and Georgia have different ideas and that they are both wrong. ( Good luck trying to get elected to a political position, David )

Especially with my propensity to call a spade a spade and lay blame where it is deserved. The sole reason the collarum is not allowed in Georgia lies in the Georgia Trappers Association's official position to not take a position. Back when snares were legal some houndsmen got a hound hung and instead of fighting the fight the GTA rolled over. The last time I brought the subject up an old timer with GTA all but threatened me with bodily harm.

If you are a licensed and certified Commercial Nuisance Wild Animal Control Operator, they are legal in Ohio.

They were just legalized on June 1st 2013. However, I used them on a Letter Permit basis several years ago and was not pleased with their effectiveness. I should say that I was not pleased in the number of raccoons and opossums that tripped them day in and day out for two weeks.

I believe they can be terribly effective in areas with low non-target (raccoon) populations, but where I am you can't keep them set long enough for a coyote to find them.

Swamp Wolf, if you disagree or have something to add, "What" will not do it.

Paul, I PMed him. It's all good. I just keep trying to call out the GTA but so far no response as typical.

Thanks David, if I tried that with the WTA, well we're outnumbered about 20 to 1. I would guess that they would really let me know about it.

Paul Winkleman,

With all due respect to you, I do not see your name listed as a moderator for this ADC forum.

My "What?" was directed to Warrior......that's why I quoted him.

If I had wanted or needed to add to this discussion or any other I would have done so as I always do........without your permission needed I'm sure.
