We may drop our pricey Phone book ad. Seeing it's the most I pay for a single ad and get the least results from it. This is how my calls come in 1.Pest control companies, 2. Robb Russel 3. Cabin rentals, 3. referals 4. truck ad 5.phone book. Now they are trying to get me to sign another year. My question is for Robb, I'm on the Y&P.com. Does this do anything for my presents on the net? Do most people just Google or Bing? Or do they go thru the extra clicks to go on Y&P to find us? I could of called Robb or PM him but I think someone else maybe wondering the same. I pay them $2204.00 a year and I feel like I threw away my money. Geez thats 7.5 dozen MB650 Rubber jaws!

Your gonna have to survey the customers who call you for the best answer. Nobody googles yellow pages to look on their web site for WCO's. Its what shows up in searches that count and that seems to change daily.

How many customers homes keep their Yellow pages or other phone books. They hit the garbage can here and have for years.

Well...what is the dollar value of the sales...do you have capacity to do the work...and is it profitable?

But when I went on their web site which forced me to use animal removal Gatlinburg TN. You did not even show up as one of the first 21 listed on the Y&P web site. Just want you to know their is no number #22 in Gatlinburg TN.

I never bothered to check your other markets. This was in the heart of your own local market and missing in action.

Wow! Multiple listings and looks like favoritism for bigger companies. Mike McMillan was listed once and not YOU!.

Three franchises were mentioned many times : Orkin was mentioned nine times, Wildlife Solutions on the top highlighted in a special bold box and then followed by #1, Arrow was mentioned three times. I never even found you.

Eventually something is going to have to change. The Milwaukee public school system is so bad that no high school graduates can read anymore. The Yellow Pages may have to resort to talking pictures in the future.

I average 30 calls a month from either Yellowbook.com or the actual book. No way to know exactly what one it is but with a 30 call average they are worth the $200 a month I am paying.

I know yellowpages has contacted me repeatedly and so far I have said no to them but not sure if I will give them a shot or not. In my area we have many weekend homes and not everything has the best cell reception so the phonebook still has a place around here in some areas.

Mr Shearer had a pretty good tip on this at the NTA demo on figuring out where calls were coming from.

With the tracking number I can see how many calls I get but it don't let me know from what source.

I also like that it tells me how many clicks I get from the website each month.


What I don't like is that customer now has a bad phone number for me. So if they don't look at the magnet or business card I gave them they are still calling the dummy number and Yellowbook is still counting it as a call. So if a customer calls every morning to report trap activity that is a lot of noncalls that yellowbook is still counting as leads.

I try to find out what number a customer called once I have them on the phone but sometimes I do forget.

They had me under pest control. lol

You might as well been under Florist since you are not a pest control applicator/operator , This was a renewal $2204.00 and you got very little for it.

What are they going to do about ripping you off for a whole year or more? Highlighted ad on the top for one year like Wildlife Solutions sounds more then fair to me!

The thing is thats what the contract says, and I signed it. Not much I can do. We are gona monitor the calls the rest of the month now that they changed it and see if I get any calls off it. Now that my wife is answering the phone that will be her job. Hey I can flirt with my secretary and not in trouble!!!! lol

If you still go with yb i would track the unique calls and use that as the basis for the next ad deal.

FYI Your still not showing at all for animal control in Gatlinburg TN or bat removal Gatlinburg TN. McMillan shows up for animal control and not bat removal same area.
