Yeah a lot of guys are heading out and not planning on working!!

Mike Flick will be on his way to a blues fest while doing my podcast tomorrow morning.

There still a good lick of $$$ for those working out this last strong weekend.

Bat calls are still strong all over Midwest, Southeast, Northeast and plenty of dead animal & skunk calls coming in.
Not one squirrel call has come through my network YET. But they are coming!!

There are still plenty of people who are finally figuring out they have a bat problem.

Here it is Labor Day Weekend already.

Enjoy your weekend off guys!!

Jordan, Nate, and the rest of you; you have the right idea! You guys work very hard but at your age, you're able to play even harder. Do the things that you want to do now. By the time I was thirty years old I had hunted Alaska, the Dakotas, and Canada several times.

I got it all out of my system and I'm darn glad I did. Some people look back on their youth and think of the things they should have done; I'm glad I'm not one of them. I had my fun and now it's your turn.

My kid drew a youth hunt deer tag to hunt the shiawassee game refuge 10,000 acers and only 30 kids got permits . Its a real treat for a Michigan deer hunter to hunt this area I've wanted to all my life . It's truely the big buck zone of the state . We don't normally hunt horn but meat but this time it will be big buck or no buck . Should be a great adventure by canoe and miles back into the zone . I don't think I've ever looked so forward to a hunt just glad he was able to shoot a few deer last year so he can hold it together when I put him on one of these gaint river bottom bucks .
Found his YouTube video of deer hunting there and this guy was limited to where he could hunt because he's in a wheel chair

Pesky, the only thing I ever hunted for was horns. If you need deer meat around here all you have to do is put yourself on the police department list. You'll have enough venison to keep you going forever. I could probably get plenty on the road in front of the house.

I'll admit I was scared for a second. I'm addicted to those deadly stainless OOS upgrades and saw my supplier flash before my eyes. laugh

Don't play with our emotions like that!

Yes Paul we have a standing rule never drive by a good fresh rd kill to go hunt one . With the price of meat these days good road kill hard to come by around here anymore .This hunt here will be a adventure into a protected wildlife area that was some how saved set aside protected by the duck hunters . There's two refuge areas state and federal almost 20,000 acers of swamp what a awesome place float hunt by canoe with your kid all wide eyed me with my video cam going wait I got to film this first no I wouldn't do that to him . Hope to wrap it up by noon because that's the same weekend of are early firearm doe season was planning on getting a few for the freezer but kid got drawn to hunt in a hunt that money can't by .

Paul, that's my idee of the perfect vacation... riding the trails. The ol' spot horse can't do any travelling - or even much riding, or I'd wanna join you. Where's Wolf Lake (must be Shawnee Nat'l. Forest)?

Wolf lake is right on the big river south of you. I trap thousands of acres of row cropping there. The cabin is a bird hunting lodge that I trap for the owner. $80 a night and bring your pony. Can't beat that. Nice place also. And unlimited riding. It boarders Shawnee. If the horses don't drop we may ride up into there. There a little out of shape.lol. To many bat jobs to ride much this summer

Yeah, I've heard about the good riding in Shawnee NF. Watch out for the horse flies - they've gotten vicious all of a sudden!
